BIO-key International (NASDAQ: BKYI) announced a partnership with Maktabi Tech to provide identity and access management solutions to educational institutions in Saudi Arabia, according to a press release issued Aug. 6, 2026.

Under the agreement, BIO-key's PortalGuard platform — which includes multi-factor authentication, single sign-on, passwordless authentication, and identity-bound biometrics — will be made available to schools and universities in Saudi Arabia through Maktabi Tech's existing customer network and regional distribution channels.

Maktabi Tech is a technology company that operates across Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates, with a focus on digital transformation and cybersecurity services for the education sector.

The partnership expands BIO-key's presence in Saudi Arabia, where educational institutions are seeking to modernize identity security infrastructure in alignment with the country's Vision 2030 digital transformation program.

Almuez Mansour, International Sales Leader at BIO-key, said the arrangement brings together Maktabi Tech's regional education sector relationships with BIO-key's experience in deploying identity security for academic institutions across multiple countries.

Alex Rocha, International Managing Director EMEA at BIO-key, said the company plans to use the partnership to help Saudi schools and universities build identity security infrastructure that supports both institutional needs and national digital goals.
