Tigo Energy expands VPP program eligibility to Mid-Atlantic states

July 30, 2026 9:00 AM

Tigo Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ: TYGO) announced expanded eligibility for its Virtual Power Plant (VPP) program-compatible products in Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia, with New Jersey and New York to follow, according to a company press release.

The expansion adds to existing VPP program availability in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, and Puerto Rico. The program allows homeowners with eligible Tigo residential solar and battery storage systems to participate in utility-driven programs that compensate participants for contributing stored energy to the grid during peak demand periods.

Tigo's VPP capabilities connect eligible systems with participating utility and aggregator programs through its energy management software platform.

Oleg Lagoviyer, owner of Green Revolution Solar, an Advanced-tier Tigo Loyalty Program installer, commented on the company's products: "After more than a decade of experience in the solar industry, as well as installing and servicing inverter systems from most major manufacturers, we now choose Tigo equipment for the majority of our projects."

JD Dillon, chief marketing and customer experience officer at Tigo, said: "Expanding program eligibility gives more installers the opportunity to deliver differentiated energy solutions while helping homeowners unlock additional value from their battery systems."

Tigo noted that participation in VPP programs is subject to utility availability, regional program requirements, and customer eligibility. The company plans to showcase its energy management solutions at RE+ Mid-Atlantic in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, scheduled for Aug. 12–13, 2026.
