Electrovaya unveils high-power battery system for data centers
Electrovaya Inc. (NASDAQ: ELVA) announced the launch of its ElvaPulse 1500, a stationary battery energy storage system targeting data centers, AI infrastructure, and other critical-power applications, according to a company statement.
The system is built around a modular 20-foot container using a 1500 VDC architecture, offering up to 2.88 MWh of nominal energy capacity and up to approximately 7 MW of continuous power. The design allows the system to discharge its full rated capacity in under 30 minutes, compared to the roughly two-to-four-hour discharge profile common among utility-scale lithium-ion battery systems.
ElvaPulse 1500 is the first product under Electrovaya's new stationary energy storage portfolio and incorporates the company's proprietary ceramic separator design, which it says has been validated across more than 30,000 battery systems in industrial environments.
"With up to 7 MW of continuous power from a single 20-foot container, ElvaPulse 1500 offers the highest power density available in a stationary lithium-ion platform today," said Raj DasGupta, Chief Executive Officer of Electrovaya.
Electrovaya has begun certification activities under UL 1973 and UL 9540, targeting completion in the first quarter of 2027. Initial product deliveries are planned for the second quarter of 2027 from the company's manufacturing facility in Jamestown, New York. The platform is designed to support customer eligibility for the Section 48E Investment Tax Credit, including domestic content bonus credits, subject to project-specific structuring.
The company said it is currently in discussions with hyperscale and energy developers and is accepting production reservations. Electrovaya plans to display the product at industry events in September and November 2026, including RE+ 26 in Las Vegas.
