Granite unit opens limestone sales yard on Mississippi River

July 28, 2026 4:30 PM

Memphis Stone & Gravel, a subsidiary of Granite (NYSE: GVA), opened a new aggregate sales facility in Memphis, Tennessee, in July 2026, according to a company statement.

The six-acre River Yard site is located on the Mississippi River and receives limestone products barged from Warren Paving's Slats Lucas Quarry in Salem, Kentucky. Initial inventory includes 610s, No. 8, 810, No. 57, and No. 4 stone.

The facility marks a return to stone products for Memphis Stone & Gravel, which has focused primarily on sand and gravel for decades. "Effectively, we're putting the stone back in Memphis Stone & Gravel," said Alan Parks, vice president of Memphis Stone & Gravel.

Clint Cleland, Granite's vice president of materials market strategy, said the facility connects Warren Paving's quarry resources with Memphis Stone & Gravel's existing market presence in the region.
