20/20 BioLabs meets with East Asia partners to explore expansion
20/20 BioLabs, Inc. (Nasdaq: AIDX) announced that members of its management team attended the BIO Asia-Taiwan conference July 15-19 and held meetings in Taipei, Tokyo, and Seoul with companies, investors, laboratories, and potential commercial partners as part of what the company describes as an East Asia roll-up strategy.
The Gaithersburg, Maryland-based company said it is evaluating merger, acquisition, licensing, joint venture, and commercial partnership opportunities with East Asian companies whose products, customer relationships, data assets, laboratory infrastructure, or technology platforms may complement its blood-test business focused on early detection of cancers and chronic diseases.
According to a press release, the company is targeting businesses in health-check, screening, laboratory, and diagnostics sectors, as well as companies with technology platforms, algorithms, or intellectual property related to cancer detection and biomarker tracking. The company also expressed interest in East Asian firms that may benefit from access to U.S. public markets and shared corporate services.
"Relationships in this region provided the technical foundation of our multi-cancer early detection blood test and may play an important role as we work toward our goal of achieving Medicare reimbursement for multi-cancer early detection by the end of 2028," said Jonathan Cohen, Chief Executive Officer of 20/20 BioLabs.
The company stated that acquired or partnered businesses may initially operate as subsidiaries sharing public company infrastructure, accounting, legal, and regulatory capabilities.
20/20 BioLabs noted that there is no assurance that its East Asia meetings will result in any definitive agreement, transaction, or other strategic outcome, and that any potential transaction would be subject to due diligence, board approval, and regulatory considerations.
