Sharon AI names Melissa Anastasiou as chief legal officer

Sharon AI Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: SHAZ) has appointed Melissa Anastasiou as Chief Legal Officer, according to a press release from the Australian cloud computing company.



Anastasiou joins Sharon AI after more than 16 years at Spark New Zealand, where she held the role of Executive Group General Counsel and Commercial Director. During her tenure at Spark, she advised its board and executive team on corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory matters, privacy, cybersecurity, and digital transformation. She also chaired Spark's AI & Data Ethics Committee.



In her new role, Anastasiou will oversee Sharon AI's legal, governance, and compliance functions, with responsibilities spanning regulatory matters, risk management, and AI governance practices.



James Manning, Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of Sharon AI, said Anastasiou brings "deep experience supporting one of Australasia's largest and most complex technology organisations."



Anastasiou said her focus will be on "building the legal and governance foundations that will support responsible execution and long-term growth."
