Jaguar Uranium releases preliminary surface samples from Argentina project
Jaguar Uranium Corp. (NYSE American: JAGU) released preliminary assay results from an initial surface rock sampling program at its Huemul Uranium-Copper-Vanadium Project in Malargüe, Mendoza Province, Argentina, according to a company press release.
The two-week field campaign produced 200 samples, consisting of 188 channel and rock chip samples along with six blanks and six duplicates, spanning eight target areas across the more than 27,000-hectare project. Some samples returned values above the upper detection limit of 25,000 ppm for both uranium and copper, with over-limit reanalysis pending. Other reported values included a maximum of 708 g/t silver and 1.27% vanadium.
The company noted that sampling at the Uryco/Rosa zone identified a potential 4-kilometre trend of copper mineralization observed in outcrop. Historic mine dumps were sampled for the first time during the campaign.
The results are described as preliminary exploration results only. Because sampling targeted areas of visible mineralization, the company stated the results may be biased high and should not be considered representative of grade distribution across the project. Two of six duplicate samples did not compare well and are scheduled for reanalysis.
Samples were transported to ALS in Mendoza, Argentina, an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory independent of Jaguar, for analysis. Over-limit uranium and copper samples are to be reanalyzed using XRF for base metal ores by fusion.
The Huemul Project is an exploration-stage property with no mineral resource or mineral reserve estimate prepared under NI 43-101 or Subpart 1300 of Regulation S-K. Historical records, which the company has not independently verified, report that approximately 130,000 tonnes of mineralized material were processed at the site between 1955 and 1975, with average head grades of 0.21% uranium, 2.0% copper and 0.11% vanadium.
