Vor Bio names David Zaccardelli to its board of directors
Vor Bio (Nasdaq: VOR) has appointed David Zaccardelli, Pharm.D., to its board of directors, the clinical-stage biotechnology company announced, based on a press release statement.
Zaccardelli previously served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Verona Pharma from February 2020 until the company was acquired by Merck for $10 billion in October 2025. During that period, Verona completed two Phase 3 trials, received FDA approval, and launched Ohtuvayre for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The company raised more than $1 billion under his leadership.
Prior to Verona, Zaccardelli served as President and CEO of Dova Pharmaceuticals, which was acquired by Swedish Orphan Biovitrum in 2019 for up to $915 million. He also held the role of Acting CEO of Cempra through its merger with Melinta Therapeutics, and served in several senior positions at United Therapeutics Corporation, including Chief Operating Officer. He holds a Pharm.D. from the University of Michigan.
Currently, Zaccardelli serves as Chair of the Board of Directors for SAB BIO and as Founder and Managing Member of Bull City Select Investments, LLC.
In connection with Zaccardelli's appointment, Andrew Levin, M.D., Ph.D., an advisor at RA Capital Management, has stepped down from Vor Bio's board.
Vor Bio is advancing telitacicept, a recombinant fusion protein targeting BLyS and APRIL, through global Phase 3 trials for generalized myasthenia gravis and Sjögren's disease, with the goal of seeking regulatory approvals in the United States, Europe, and Japan. Telitacicept is currently approved in China for five autoimmune conditions.
