Shares of Beyond Meat (NASDAQ: BYND) are up over 6.5% in pre-market trading today after CNBC reported that McDonald’s (NYSE: MCD) is expanding a joint pilot program.
The fast-food chain is reportedly expanding its test of the plant-based McPlant burger created with Beyond Meat. As of February 14, McDonald’s will offer the burger at around 600 locations in the San Francisco Bay and Dallas-Fort Worth areas.
In November, McDonald’s teamed up with BYND to offer the burger at only eight of its locations.
This news will offer some relief to Beyond Meat investors as shares are down over 50% in the last 12 months.
Beyond Meat stock price closed at $67.27 yesterday.
