The Conference Board Leading Economic Index® (LEI) for France Increased
NEW YORK, July 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Conference Board Leading Economic Index® (LEI) for France increased 0.2 percent in May to 112.1 (2010 = 100), following an increase of 0.2 percent in April, and an increase of 0.4 percent in March.
At the same time, The Conference Board Coincident Economic Index® (CEI) for France, a measure of current economic activity, was unchanged in May at 100.7 (2010 = 100), following a 0.1 percent increase in April, and no change in March.
The LEI has been trending slightly upward since last fall, and as a result its six-month growth rate moderately improved from six months ago. Meanwhile, the CEI has also been growing very modestly over the same period. Taken together, the behavior of the composite indexes suggests that the current expansion in the economy should continue in the near-term.
