Relcy, Native Mobile Search Engine, Announces General Availability on iOS
Relcy app simplifies mobile search, combines apps and the Web in a single search function
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Relcy, the fastest way to find on mobile, today announced the general availability of its iOS app. Relcy takes a mobile centric approach to index, link, and rank content across apps and the Web. The search is powered by its expansive knowledge graph, a proprietary indexing technology built from the ground up.

Relcy’s knowledge graph maps hundreds of millions of entities, creating an interconnected web of entities, attributes and actions associated with relevant apps. As a result, Relcy won’t just find what a user is looking for; it will make inferences and add contextual data to provide an even more holistic search result.
For example, a search for “Chinese food” on an incumbent search engine results in a list of disparate weblinks and restaurant pages. In contrast, Relcy provides the user with a list of Chinese restaurants nearby, coupled with deeplinks to all delivery apps to have it delivered, taxi and ride-hailing apps to get there, and reviews and images, all on one interactive card. In essence, Relcy condenses five or six searches in multiple apps into a single, comprehensive search.
The search market is long overdue for a mobile search solution. As it stands, more than 50 percent of all searches come from mobile devices – of which there are roughly 1.5 billion in the world. With mobile use growing so dramatically over the last few years, it’s no surprise users are turning to their device for on-demand answers. Finding them, however, is no easy feat. On average, an individual smartphone has 119 apps, so searching for information using PC-era tools is ineffective and time-consuming.
“Apps have been siloed for too long,” said Rohit Satapathy, CEO of Relcy. “Relcy is here to change that. Through its simple, beautiful UI and lightning-fast search abilities, Relcy is revolutionizing search and bringing it to the mobile era. We live in a mobile-centric world, so we are thrilled to bring a mobile-centric search engine to the general public.”
Started in 2013, Relcy has a tight knit team that hails from LinkedIn, Facebook, Apple, Yahoo and many more. To date, Relcy has raised $9 million from Khosla Ventures and Sequoia Capital.
“Today, mobile search is still based on an outdated desktop search mentality,” said Keith Rabois, investment partner at Khosla Ventures. “Relcy's mobile-first approach allows people to more effectively find what they are looking for without having to switch between apps."
