New 9Line Pinpoint Service Alerts Security to Cellphone 911 Caller Locations
More than 80 percent of 911 calls now come from wireless devices, according to NENA: The 9-1-1 Association. While landlines and connected campus phone systems can alert on-site staff when someone dials 911, cellphone calls have long remained a blind spot.
9Line Pinpoint closes that gap. When someone dials 911 from a cellphone anywhere on a customer's property, 9Line Pinpoint detects the call's location and notifies on-site teams with the caller's position, whether the call comes from a parking garage, inside a multi-story office building, or in the middle of a campus quad. 9Line Pinpoint also shares the organization's security team contact information with the 911 center handling the call, so dispatchers know who is on site and can reach them directly.
"On National First Responders Day, we think about the people who run toward an emergency," said
In a year-long national analysis of more than 1.7 million calls from 485 agencies, research published in JAMA Surgery found emergency medical service units average 8 minutes from the time of a 911 call to arrival on scene, with nearly 1 in 10 rural encounters waiting almost a half-hour. On a large property, an on-site team that knows a 911 caller's location can begin rendering aid before outside responders arrive and can guide responders to the right place when they do.
9Line Pinpoint is built for organizations with large properties and multiple buildings, including schools and universities, hospitals and senior living communities, utilities, corporate and government campuses, and stadiums and public venues.
9Line Dispatch delivers dispatchable locations for enterprise phone systems, backed by a 99.999% uptime commitment, and 9Line Echo provides AI-based semantic analysis and call transcription to contextualize the emergency and allow teams to provide an appropriate response. 9Line supports more than 10,000 organizations across nearly 300,000 locations in the

About 9Line
9Line is a St. Louis technology company that makes sure a call for help reaches the right people with the right information. The company was founded in 2021 by U.S. Air Force veteran Mark Turpin and Colin O'Brien, whose earlier work includes NASA's International Space Station program and Boeing's Advanced Warfare team. 9Line builds emergency communications software that delivers a dispatchable location to 911 centers and real-time alerts to an organization's own security team. The company takes its name from the military medevac request, in which nine lines of essential information are communicated, and the first is always location. Learn more at 9line.net.
