Meketa Investment Group Announces Expanded Ownership Team
BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Meketa Investment Group, a global investment consulting firm, is pleased to announce that it has expanded its employee ownership to include eight new shareholders. Principals Brian Dana, Jess Downer, Daniel Dynan, Steven Hartt, Edwin Omata, Todd Silverman, Christopher Tehranian, and Laura Wirick have joined the firm’s ownership group.

Establishing the next generation of ownership is a key component of Meketa Investment Group’s long-term succession plan. In keeping with that plan, the firm recently announced the appointment of Messrs. McCourt and Woolley as co-CEOs, and company founder Jim Meketa’s move into the role of Chairman, effective July 31.
W. Brian Dana, CAIA, serves as a consultant in addition to leading the firm’s hedge fund research. Mr. Dana received a master’s degree in Finance from the University of Florida and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Drury University. He joined the firm’s Boston office in 2006.
Jess W. Downer, CFA, serves as a consultant and analyst in the firm’s Private Markets Group, specializing in private equity and real estate investments. Mr. Downer received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the University of Puget Sound. He joined the firm’s San Diego office in 2008.
Daniel R. Dynan, CFA, CAIA, serves as a consultant on various defined benefit, annuity, and health & welfare funds, with Taft-Hartley, public and corporate plan sponsors. Mr. Dynan is also responsible for the firm’s research into alternative-beta strategies related to quality, stability and income. Mr. Dynan received a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the College of the Holy Cross. He joined the firm’s Boston office in 2009.
Steven Hartt, CAIA, serves as a consultant and analyst in the firm’s Private Markets Group and leads the firm’s private equity co-investment and secondary transaction research. Mr. Hartt received a master’s degree in Business Administration from Columbia Business School and a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He joined the firm’s San Diego office in 2010.
Edwin Omata, CFA, serves as Chair of the firm’s Fiduciary Services Committee, which oversees discretionary client mandates, and as Assistant Director of Public Markets Manager Research. Mr. Omata received a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Investments & Banking from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He joined the firm’s San Diego office in 2008.
Todd Silverman, CAIA, serves as a consultant and analyst in the firm’s Private Markets Group and leads the firm’s private equity and private debt investment teams, managing research, fund deal flow, and due diligence for those asset classes. Mr. Silverman received a bachelor’s degree in Economics and International Relations from Colgate University. He joined the firm’s Boston office in 2008.
Christopher Tehranian serves as a consultant and analyst in the firm’s Private Markets Group, specializing in infrastructure investments and natural resources. Mr. Tehranian received a master’s degree in Finance from Boston College and a bachelor’s degree in Finance and International Economics from the University of Florida. He joined the firm’s Boston office in 2007.
Laura B. Wirick, CFA, CAIA, serves as lead consultant for public, endowment and foundation clients, and is a member of the Marketable Securities Investment Committee, Strategic Asset Allocation Committee, and the private debt team. Ms. Wirick received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and International Marketing from American University. She joined the firm’s San Diego office in 2008.
The expanded ownership increases the number of Meketa Investment Group shareholders to 20. The additional shareholders are James Meketa, Alan Spatrick, Steve McCourt, Peter Woolley, John Haggerty, Frank Benham, Ted Benedict, Kellie Coonan, Mitch Dynan, Leo Festino, Mika Malone, and Marc Fandetti.
