GAHANNA, Ohio, Jan. 24, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Heartland BancCorp, (OTCQB: HLAN), parent company of Heartland Bank, today announced that they were selected as the winner of the Small Business Support of the Arts Award as part of the 2018 Governor’s Awards for the Arts in Ohio program.

Scott McComb, Chairman, President and CEO of Heartland Bank said, “We are pleased to be recognized for such a prestigious honor. Support for local music and the arts fosters the development of important skills in the lives of children and families who embrace the arts, learn from the tradition and become lifelong arts advocates.”

Nominating Heartland Bank for the Small Business Support of the Arts Award was Patti Von Niessen, Executive Director of Summer Jam West, a grassroots community coalition that hosts an annual free arts and music festival at Westgate Park in the Hilltop. “Summer Jam West was honored to nominate Heartland Bank for the Governor’s Awards for the Arts in Ohio, Small Business Support of the Arts Award,” she said. “Not only does the bank support our event financially, but their associates volunteer their time as well. We have been blessed to have been able to forge a strong partnership with an outstanding, local community minded bank.”

The Governors Awards luncheon will take place this year on May 16 and is held in conjunction with Arts Day, a daylong arts advocacy event sponsored by the Ohio Citizens for the Arts Foundation.
