In his capacity with Powering Louisiana, Arnold will focus on growing responsible energy development, and advocating for property rights, local control, grid reliability, energy affordability and an all-of-the-above approach to meeting Louisiana's rapidly increasing electricity demand. Jeff most recently served The Pelican State as the Executive Director of Energy Right - America First Energy Project Louisiana.

Powering Louisiana supports providing timely and accurate information about energy issues affecting people in Louisiana. The initiative's Mission Statement notes:

"Powering Louisiana serves people from all walks of life by advocating for affordable power and a more resilient grid. We believe reliable electricity is foundational to families' well-being and to local economies. We work to strengthen the grid so outages are shorter and less frequent. Our goal is to empower every neighborhood and every parish with access to dependable power, reduce energy burdens, and build grid resilience against rising energy costs and extreme weather."

The Southern Renewable Energy Association (SREA) in April announced the official launch of the Powering Louisiana initiative as a collaborative statewide effort to help bring affordable energy within the reach of all residents.

"I am excited to join the Southern Renewable Energy Association and Powering Louisiana to continue the work I have been doing across Louisiana," Arnold said. "With unprecedented economic development and an ever increasing demand for power, Louisiana has a tremendous opportunity to expand and diversify its energy generation. I look forward to working with SREA members, policymakers, local leaders, and the energy industry to help ensure Louisiana has the generation and infrastructure needed to power our continued growth."

SREA Executive Director Simon Mahan said in a statement earlier this year that bringing together stakeholders from civic organizations, local and state government, industry and communities around the state to start impactful conversations around energy affordability and burdens, expand access to reliable power, and debunk misinformation about energy and transmission is at the core of why SREA created the Powering initiatives.

To date, SREA has launched similar initiatives in Arkansas and Georgia.
