Cresset appoints Joe Zidle as Chief Market Strategist
Zidle brings more than three decades of experience across macroeconomics, asset allocation, and public and private markets to Cresset's multi-family office platform serving ultra-high-net-worth families, business owners, and entrepreneurs.

Zidle brings more than three decades of experience in investment strategy, asset allocation, and global markets. Most recently, he served as Senior Managing Director and Chief Investment Strategist for Blackstone Private Wealth, where he spent nearly eight years helping shape investment strategy and delivering insights to private wealth investors. Prior to Blackstone, Zidle was a Portfolio Strategist at Richard Bernstein Advisors, where he was responsible for portfolio strategy, asset allocation, investment management and relationships with major wealth management firms and independent registered investment advisers.
Earlier in his career, Zidle spent nearly a decade at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he served in a number of senior research and investment strategy roles, including Head of Investment Strategy for Global Wealth Management and Deputy Director of the Research Investment Committee. In those roles, he developed and communicated investment strategies across major asset classes and disciplines for the firm's private client business.
Following his tenure at Blackstone, Zidle founded Zidle Macro Strategy Group, an independent research and investment strategy firm focused on the intersection of macroeconomics, public and private markets, asset allocation, and portfolio construction.
At Cresset, Zidle will work closely with the firm's investment team and advisors to help clients navigate the opportunities and challenges presented by today's evolving investment landscape. His work will include developing investment perspectives, helping families evaluate portfolio construction and asset allocation decisions, and providing guidance around the role of public and private markets within diversified portfolios. Zidle will be an integral part of the Cresset investment team and involved in strategy as well as the evaluation and execution of investment solutions informed in part by his research observations.
"Cresset has built something distinctive by bringing together investment management, wealth planning, and family office capabilities around the needs of families, business owners, and entrepreneurs," Zidle said. "That is exactly the environment in which I want to apply my experience. I am excited to work alongside Cresset's investment and advisory teams to help clients navigate an increasingly complex investment landscape and to connect the dots between macroeconomic trends, public markets, private markets, and long-term wealth objectives."
"As Cresset continues to grow, we are building an investment platform designed around the complexity and long-term needs of ultra-high-net-worth families," said
Zidle earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and History from Emory University. He also served as a specialist in military intelligence in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1993 to 2001. In addition, Zidle serves on the Executive Leadership Team of Stop Soldier Suicide, which is a national nonprofit focused on solving the issue of suicide among
