CLARINDA, Iowa--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The city of Clarinda, Iowa, launched a new payment processing system, PayPort, that enables residents to make secure payments to City Hall, the Police Department and the Library online and over-the-counter with credit cards, debit cards, and eChecks. The new service, which can be found online at www.bestiowatown.com, replaces an existing service that will terminate June 30, 2016.
“We’re so happy to be able to accept credit and debit cards again,” said Gary McClarnon, Clarinda City Clerk. “PayPort validates payments quickly, so from an internal standpoint, we can increase efficiency by redirecting our time and effort to other projects.”
The City partnered with Iowa Interactive, LLC of Des Moines, to offer the new PayPort service at no cost to taxpayers. The Web-based system enables citizens to make payments to City Hall for building permits, street fees, utility fines, and payments. Citizens can also make payments to the Police Department for fines and fingerprints, as well as pay fines and fees to the Library.
