CEC Companies Headquarters Earns LEED Gold

DALLAS, Aug. 30, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- CEC Companies announced that it has earned LEED Gold® certification for its 35,000 square foot corporate headquarters located at 1275 Valley View Lane, Irving, Texas. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is an internationally recognized green building rating and certification system of the U.S. Green Building Council.

In 2017, CEC Companies' Facilities team, along with our development partners Merriman Anderson Architects and Brassfield & Gorrie, performed an initial LEED feasibility assessment of the building. Built in 2016, the facility includes office space, a pre-fabrication shop, fleet maintenance and warehousing space. The initial study highlighted energy efficiency and sustainability measures incorporated during the original building design, construction and operations phase, which correlated with LEED prerequisites and points. Additional LEED points required minor modification to existing infrastructure or process improvements to further a positive impact on the environment.

CEC Companies' LEED Gold® certification was awarded 61 points, just four points short of Platinum certification.
