BIMBO BAKERIES TEAMSTERS OVERWHELMINGLY RATIFY CONTRACT

Over 200 Workers in New England Avert Strike, Win Strong Contract

WASHINGTON, Sept. 11, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Members of Teamsters Local 170 and Local 633 at Bimbo Bakeries have ratified a new agreement by an overwhelming 90 percent. Earlier this month, the sales and warehouse workers authorized a strike after the company refused to offer area standards or real wage adjustments.

"Nothing is stronger than Teamsters solidarity, and our members proved it throughout negotiations with Bimbo," said Jeff Padellaro, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 633 and Director of the Teamsters Brewery, Bakery, and Soft Drink Conference. "The determination of the workforce pushed Bimbo to recognize the important contributions of the Teamsters. We have won an agreement that all members should be proud of."

"Rank-and-file Teamsters never gave up the idea that they deserved better than what they were being offered," said Shannon R. George, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 170. "Our members were prepared to strike to win what they're worth. Workers have shown Bimbo and all other employers what we can accomplish when we are a united group."

The new six-year agreement includes pension improvements, wage increases, and reduced health care costs. The contract also offers strong job security protections.

"We were tired of management taking for granted the work we do that makes Bimbo so successful," said Jason Morin, a shop steward at Bimbo Bakeries and member of Local 633. "We were ready to strike if needed and are proud that we have a secured a powerful new deal."
