OLDWICK, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- In this special A.M.BestTV wrap-up report from day three of the annual Risk & Insurance Management Society Inc.’s (RIMS) conference in New Orleans, LA, attendees examine the increasingly more complex risks of data and privacy breaches, as well as the new forms of coverage that is aimed at risks of sharing-based and other emerging business models.

Michael Tanenbaum, senior vice president at ACE Professional Risk, spoke about the new data risks that exist, especially in the medical field. “In general, if you examine what information is available, particularly in medical records, medical identity theft can easily occur, and this kind of theft is much more difficult to detect than credit card fraud,” said Tanenbaum.
In addition, Kevin Kelley, chief executive officer at Ironshore, spoke about the condition in Baltimore, MD, which he said was disturbing. “The riots in Baltimore are very troubling on many levels. The direct impact these riots will have, will be on liability exposures for public entities, and since the risks and exposures for police are already very challenging, the situation in Baltimore will only add to that complexity and challenge.”
Other people who appear in this episode include:
- Randy Nornes, executive vice president at Aon Risk Solutions;
- John Mulvhill, president and chief executive officer at HSB BI&I; and
