A.M.BestTV: Why One Insurer Focuses on Recruiting Military Veterans
OLDWICK, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- This A.M.BestTV episode explores Combined Insurance Company of America’s (Combined) commitment to hiring military veterans and why the company’s executives believe it is important that the insurance industry harness the strengths and skills they bring. Recently, Combined was named the No. 1 military friendly employer out of 100 companies that represent the top 3% of over 5,000 companies in the United States. “Veterans really, really match up well with Combined,” said Stewart Zaid, regional director for New York and New Jersey at Combined. “I’m a big team player, and I find veterans understand the hard work that goes into a sales organization. Veterans are adaptable, they want to be a part of a team, and they don’t come to us with the attitude that they have all the answers or they are going to reinvent the wheel.”
Additionally, according to Joseph Pennington, military program manager at Combined, veterans bring a lot to the table. “They share a lot of the core values our company was founded on: integrity, commitment and discipline. They have leadership capabilities and are system-oriented people, all of which serve them successfully in the sales field.”
The entire panel agreed that veterans have a very positive work ethic, take extreme pride in representing the company and have proven to be a perfect fit for Combined.
