“With 800 attendees, it really is a conference with people from across the industry,” said David Gibbons, chairman, Bermuda Captive Conference. “They are here to discuss captives and how Bermuda is innovating the market, through things like cyber and employee benefits,” continued Gibbons.

“Here in Bermuda, we have been watching over the last couple of weeks the debate concerning the U.K. vote, which does have some implications for Bermuda, since we are a U.K. territory,” said Michael Dunkley, premier of Bermuda. Dunkley said he also believes that if the United Kingdom stays in the European Union it would be of great benefit to Bermuda, since he sees the world as a “big global village” with opportunities and challenges.
