Team Boxing League Secures New York Promoter License Approval

A major milestone for the growing league in a state with deep boxing roots

NEW YORK, Oct. 23, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- TBL Team Boxing League ("TBL") today announced that it has received promoter license approval from the New York State Athletic Commission ("NYSAC"), marking a major milestone in the league's growth and laying the groundwork for team-based professional boxing in one of the sport's most storied markets. The approval builds on TBL's experience conducting events under state and tribal regulatory oversight across the United States. For the league, New York represents an opportunity to contribute to a boxing tradition built in neighborhood gyms, carried on by generations of fighters, and celebrated on some of the sport's biggest nights.

TBL events are team-based, with each individual single-round contest contributing to the overall team score. Every round matters to the final result, combining the skill and determination of individual boxers with the strategy, pride, and shared stakes of team competition. The single-round structure limits overall round exposure while creating an urgent, action-packed contest.Supporting that format is a coordinated approach to licensing, compliance, and event preparation. TBL staff work across jurisdictions to keep regulatory operations organized and efficient, with athlete safety and competitive integrity central to their responsibilities.

"New York has helped write the history of boxing. We are proud to have the opportunity to contribute to its future," said Kevin Cassidy, Kevin Cassidy, CEO of TBL Team Boxing League. "This is a tremendous milestone for our league. We want to bring memorable nights of boxing to the Big Apple, create meaningful opportunities for fighters, and give fans a team they can call their own."

"The New York State Athletic Commission has long been a cornerstone of boxing regulation, and we have great respect for its thoroughness and diligence," added Danny Vella, Senior Vice President of Regulatory Affairs at TBL. "We hold ourselves to high standards, and our staff takes pride in the work behind every event. Safety and integrity are fundamental to how we operate. We look forward to working closely with the Commission in New York and continuing to raise the bar as we grow across the U.S. and beyond."

As TBL expands domestically and prepares for Europe, New York marks an important step in bringing its team competition to more fighters and fans. Event dates, venues, and additional details will be announced as plans are finalized. Individual events remain subject to applicable Commission approvals and requirements.

Founded on an innovative team-based competition format, TBL has emerged as one of the fastest-growing properties in combat sports, combining elite boxing talent with a city-based franchise model that creates passionate fan rivalries and dynamic live events.
