Granite River Trading Launches as a Principal Digital-Asset Trading Firm

Firm names co-founder Josh Gibson as Chief Executive Officer

NEW YORK, Sept. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Granite River Trading (GRT), a principal digital-asset trading firm, today announced its formal launch, the appointment of Josh Gibson as Chief Executive Officer, and the confirmation of its senior leadership team.

GRT trades its own capital across centralized exchanges, decentralized venues and emerging on-chain markets, with active connectivity to more than 25 trading venues. The firm operates globally, with a distributed team providing continuous coverage across every major trading session. Its activity spans systematic and discretionary strategies, and extends to OTC markets, RWA exchanges and prediction markets. The firm expects its activity to broaden as it scales.

Gibson takes the Chief Executive Officer role, where he will lead the firm's strategy, commercial growth and global expansion. A co-founder of the firm and a crypto veteran with nearly 20 years of financial-markets experience, he was an early employee at GSR, where he spent five years.

He is joined by a leadership team with deep market-making pedigree. Juan Marquez, Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer, was previously Head of Engineering at Keyrock, where he led the team behind the firm's market-making platform. Kalon Jarvis, Head of Trading, has traded derivatives for close to two decades, including senior roles at Auros and Cumberland (DRW), with expertise in algorithmic trading and proprietary strategies.

The launch comes at a point of consolidation across digital-asset trading. GRT has used the period to invest in technology and to add senior talent.
