Oppenheimer initiates coverage on ANI Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: ANIP) with a Perform rating and a price target of $85.00.
The analyst comments "We initiate coverage of ANI Pharmaceuticals with a Perform rating and $85 PT. Cortrophin Gel remains an attractive, durable rare disease asset, but the valuation increasingly reflects sustained elevated growth despite management’s recent 5% reduction to 2026 midpoint guidance. The acute gout expansion broadens the opportunity but requires significant commercial investment, carries lower utilization per patient and faces meaningful access friction. Iluvien provides diversification but has yet to establish a sustained growth trajectory following the Alimera Sciences acquisition. Generics and Wakix royalties support cash generation, while the strong balance sheet provides capacity for additional M&A. We view risk/reward as balanced pending greater visibility into gout economics, Iluvien execution and disciplined capital deployment."
