Ladenburg Thalmann analyst Michael Legg initiates coverage on Escalade (NASDAQ: ESCA) with a Neutral rating.
The analyst comments "We are initiating coverage of Escalade, Inc. (NASDAQ: ESCA) with a Neutral rating. Escalade owns a broad portfolio of sporting-goods and recreation brands spanning archery, basketball, billiards, table tennis, pickleball, outdoor games, fitness, water recreation and related categories. The company has materially improved gross margin, inventory discipline and leverage, but the revenue record remains the central constraint: sales declined from $313.8 million in 2022 to $240.2 million in 2025, and 2026 reported growth is being helped meaningfully by acquired brands. Escalade has recognizable niche brands, an improving balance sheet and normalized EBITDA margins near 10%, but we believe a higher valuation requires clearer evidence that the installed portfolio can return to sustainable organic growth. Company disclosures identify archery, including incremental Gold Tip revenue, as a primary driver of first-half 2026 growth. Because acquired-brand revenue is not separately disclosed, our organic/inorganic bridge is unclear, and thus rate the stock Neutral."
