JPMorgan analyst Bryan Smilek initiates coverage on Coursera Inc (NYSE: COUR) with a Neutral rating and a price target of $8.00.
The analyst comments: "Coursera is a leading online learning platform providing ~162M registered learners, ~1.6k paid enterprise customers, & ~26.4k degrees students access to stackable content/credentials. Coursera operates a three-sided marketplace that generates platform advantages through its educator partner network, content, global reach, & data/tech innovation. We believe Coursera is well-positioned to capture share of its $309B TAM, w/greater focus on reskilling/ upskilling around GenAI. We project Revenue growing at a +8% 2023-2026E CAGR & expect progress toward mgmt’s 15-20% L-T Adj. EBITDA goal (9.2% Adj. EBITDA margins in 2026E). We are positive on Coursera’s global scale, differentiated content/credentials, platform advantages, diversified revenue, and improving bottom line. However, COUR is navigating growth headwinds, & we look for execution & improved revenue trends, more favorable macro, & greater profit, some of which could drive improved performance in 2025."
