BMO Capital Starts Walt Disney (DIS) at Outperform

BMO Capital initiated coverage on Walt Disney (NYSE: DIS) with an Outperform rating and price target of $76.00. Analyst Daniel Salmon said the company's premium valuation is justified based on its unique assets.

"Disney has a unique stable of content and characters (e.g., Iron Man, Kermit the Frog, Winnie the Pooh), but sets itself apart from peers with the most dynamic set of businesses across, which it can be monetized (i.e., parks & resorts, consumer products licensing, games). Moreover, ESPN's bedrock to company profits is powerful, as we believe it is the most sustainable premium advertising franchise in the US and its $6 billion affiliate fees offer a defensive element as well," said Salmon.
