Stocks Higher On Better Economic Data: DJIA +100
Stocks have started strong today on better-than-expected economic data. The Dow is up 99, the Nasdaq is up 20 and the S&P 500 is up 12
Initial jobless claims for the week ended Sept. 25 came in at 453,000, vs. the consensus of 460,000.
The final GDP reading for Q2 comes in at 1.7%, which compares to the economist survey of 1.6%. The last reading for quarterly GDP came in at 1.6%.
Chicago PMI for September comes in at 60.4, vs. the consensus of 55.5
