S&P 500 tests 4,000 following hawkish Powell comments
Stocks continue to drift lower and are now at session lows following earlier hawkish comments from Fed Chairman Powell:
- Dow -458, S&P 500 -48, Nasdaq -84
- S&P 500 is testing the 4,000 level, last at 3999.83
- Earlier, Fed Chair Jerome Powell told Congress rates would probably have to rise further than the Federal Reserve previously thought to tame inflation.
