ZION names new technology leaders as CTO Smith departs

Zions Bancorporation (NASDAQ: ZION) announced leadership changes in its technology and operations team effective immediately, according to a company statement.
Jennifer Smith, who served as Chief Technology and Operations Officer since 2015, will leave the bank following a 20-year career with Zions. The company's Enterprise Technology and Operations division will be led by Margaret Mayer as Chief Information Officer and Ken Collins as Chief Transformation and Operations Officer.
Mayer joined Zions two years ago as Chief Technology Officer after working in banking technology at Capital One and Discover. Collins has been with Zions for 24 years in various Enterprise Technology and Operations roles.
"Jennifer is leaving a lasting impact on Zions through many significant contributions, including implementing what, among larger banks, is the first-in-the-U.S. modern integrated deposit and loan core banking system," said Scott J. McLean, Zions Bancorporation's President and COO.
McLean stated that both Mayer and Collins "are highly qualified with deep experience in technology and operations and are well-respected throughout our organization and the industry."
Zions Bancorporation operates with approximately $89 billion in total assets as of December 31, 2025, and reported annual net revenue of $3.4 billion in 2025. The company operates under local management teams in 11 western states and is included in the S&P MidCap 400 and NASDAQ Financial 100 indices.
