Wellgistics Health names Brett Thompson as consulting CTO
Wellgistics Health, Inc. (NASDAQ: WGRX) announced the appointment of Brett Thompson as consulting Chief Technology Officer, replacing Srini Kalla, who stepped down from the role.
Thompson is the founder and president of Pivcon, Inc., a technology consulting and software engineering firm. He brings more than 30 years of experience in enterprise software, including over 17 years focused on healthcare and pharmacy technology.
His background includes work with independent pharmacies, retail pharmacy chains, healthcare providers, government agencies, and educational institutions across the United States and Canada. His areas of expertise include healthcare interoperability standards such as FHIR and HL7, cybersecurity frameworks including HIPAA and SOC 2, cloud-native platforms, and artificial intelligence applications.
"I am excited to bring the breadth of my experiences to Wellgistics Health as it transitions to become DataMeds AI," Thompson said in a statement.
Gerald Commissiong, Interim Co-CEO of Wellgistics Health, cited Thompson's background as relevant to the company's consumer-facing strategy, which includes integrating patient health records, telemedicine, laboratory results, online pharmacy dispensing, and wearable device data into a single application.
The announcement also references a pending expansion of a license agreement with DataVault AI and a proposed corporate name change to DataMeds AI, Inc., both of which remain subject to stockholder approval and other closing conditions.
