Sutro Biopharma names new SVP of business development

Sutro Biopharma, Inc. (NASDAQ: STRO) has appointed Lucas Donigian as Senior Vice President, Business Development, effective September 28, 2026, according to a company statement.

Donigian brings more than 20 years of biotechnology industry experience in business development, corporate strategy, and alliance management. The company said he has executed oncology partnerships with an aggregate deal value of over $2 billion, including in the antibody drug conjugate (ADC) space.

Donigian most recently served as Vice President, Head of Business Development & Licensing and Commercial at Zymeworks Inc., where he led the execution of a licensing agreement with Jazz Pharmaceuticals for zanidatamab. Before that, he was Director, Business Development and BioPharma Collaboration at NanoString Technologies, where he oversaw companion diagnostic partnerships and the divestiture of the nCounter diagnostics business to Veracyte. Earlier in his career, he worked as a Senior Research Associate in Cancer Biology at OncoMed Pharmaceuticals.

He holds an MBA from the Michael G. Foster School of Business, University of Washington, and a BS in Molecular Biology from San Jose State University.

In connection with the appointment, Sutro's Compensation Committee granted Donigian stock options to purchase 25,000 shares of common stock and 1,750 restricted stock units (RSUs), effective October 15, 2026. The grants were made as an employment inducement under Nasdaq Listing Rule 5635(c)(4). One-fourth of the stock options vest on the one-year anniversary of his hire date and monthly thereafter through the fourth anniversary. RSUs vest annually over four years beginning on the one-year anniversary of the grant date, subject to continued service.
