ScanSource names Mark Morgan president of Specialty Technologies unit

ScanSource Inc. (NASDAQ: SCSC) appointed Mark Morgan as President of Specialty Technologies, the technology distributor announced.

Morgan joined ScanSource in 2003 as Vice President of Sales for the Barcode and Mobility business. He has held several leadership positions at the company, including Vice President of Sales for the Communications business, President of Intelisys, and President of Global Strategy.

During his tenure leading the Communications business, Morgan oversaw the transition from traditional voice and data technologies to networking, collaboration and cloud-based services. He participated in the acquisitions of Intelisys, RPM, intY and Resourcive.

"Mark has played a central role in ScanSource's growth and transformation for more than two decades," said Mike Baur, Chairman and CEO of ScanSource. "Mark's perspective and leadership will help us continue delivering a more connected sales experience for our partners across hardware, cloud and services."

The company also announced that Tony Sorrentino resigned after 26 years of service. Morgan will report to Baur.

ScanSource, headquartered in Greenville, South Carolina, distributes technology solutions including hardware, software, connectivity and cloud services to channel partners. The company was founded in 1992 and ranks #875 on the Fortune 1000.
