ASP Isotopes Inc. (NASDAQ: ASPI) announced that its subsidiary Quantum Leap Energy has appointed Nate Salpeter, Ph.D., as chief technology officer. Salpeter brings more than 15 years of experience in nuclear energy and advanced thermal systems.
Salpeter previously served as the first fluid dynamicist at TerraPower and Kairos Power, where he developed computational fluid dynamics and modeling methods. At TerraPower, he worked on the Traveling Wave Reactor and Natrium project, and led a Department of Energy-funded program involving TerraPower, Areva, Argonne National Laboratory, and Texas A&M University.
In his new role, Salpeter will optimize Quantum Leap Energy's licensed and proprietary technologies and establish computational, experimental, and integration frameworks to support the company's commercial goals. The company focuses on nuclear fuel cycle technologies including uranium enrichment and isotopic separation.
"Throughout my career, I have repeatedly joined emerging organizations at moments where their technology was promising but the methods, processes, and validation frameworks did not yet exist," Salpeter said. "My goal at QLE will be to ensure that technical decisions are correct, timely, transparent, and aligned with the Company's broader strategic objectives."
Salpeter holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University and received the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Lewis F. Moody Award for contributions to fluid mechanics. He also serves as co-founder and general partner at SNØCAP, a deep-tech venture fund.
Quantum Leap Energy operates as a wholly-owned subsidiary of ASP Isotopes and develops technologies for nuclear fuel production and radioactive waste treatment. The company holds exclusive global rights to Aerodynamic Separation Process and Quantum Enrichment technologies.
