Q32 Bio names new chief medical and chief development officers

Q32 Bio Inc. (Nasdaq: QTTB), a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on alopecia areata and other autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, has appointed José Trevejo, M.D., Ph.D., as Chief Medical Officer and Ellie Hershberger, Pharm.D., as Chief Development Officer, according to a press release.

Dr. Trevejo previously served as Chief Medical Officer and Head of Clinical Pipeline Strategy at Enveda Therapeutics. Before that, he was Chief Medical Officer at Tarsus Pharmaceuticals, where he helped lead the FDA approval of XDEMVY, a treatment for Demodex blepharitis. He also held roles at Rocket Pharmaceuticals, Genentech, and Vertex Pharmaceuticals. He earned his M.D. and Ph.D. from the Cornell-Rockefeller-Sloan Kettering Tri-Institutional program and completed training at Harvard Medical School-affiliated hospitals.

Dr. Hershberger previously served as Chief Development Officer at Adagio Therapeutics, now Invivyd, where she advanced the company's lead monoclonal antibody candidate through Phase 3 development and contributed to an initial public offering that raised approximately $356 million in gross proceeds. She has also held senior roles at Merck, Cubist Pharmaceuticals, and Pfizer.

Chief Executive Officer Jodie Morrison said the appointments align with the company's transition toward late-stage clinical development, including plans to advance its lead drug candidate, bempikibart, into a registration-directed program for severe or very severe alopecia areata.

Dr. Hershberger indicated the company aims to advance bempikibart into a registration-directed program in the first half of 2027. Bempikibart is a fully human anti-IL-7Rα antibody currently in a Phase 2 program for alopecia areata.
