PureTech Health names Robert Lyne as permanent CEO
PureTech Health plc (NASDAQ: PRTC, LSE: PRTC) appointed Robert Lyne as chief executive officer, effective immediately, according to a company statement. Lyne also joins the board of directors.
Lyne has served as interim CEO since July 2025 and joined the biotherapeutics company in January 2024 as chief portfolio officer. He previously led Arix Bioscience plc as CEO and has more than a decade of experience in senior leadership roles at London-listed life science companies.
The company said its immediate focus involves securing funding for its Founded Entity, Celea Therapeutics, following a successful End-of-Phase 2 meeting with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. PureTech expects to close this funding process within the first half of 2026.
"Our immediate focus is on securing the funding needed to advance our newest Founded Entity, Celea Therapeutics," Lyne said. "This process is progressing, and we expect to close within the first half of 2026, after which PureTech's operational run rate will reduce significantly."
The company also plans to pursue financing in 2026 for Gallop Oncology as initial data continue to develop. Once Celea receives full financing, PureTech will evaluate methods for delivering shareholder value, including potential capital returns.
Sharon Barber-Lui, interim chair of PureTech's board of directors, said Lyne demonstrated strong leadership and strategic clarity during his interim role. The board supports his approach to maintain a lean operating model while focusing on capital-efficient innovation.
During his career, Lyne participated in over 80 venture capital financings across Europe and North America, along with multiple portfolio exits and initial public offerings.
