Provident Bank names Adriano Duarte as CFO, effective July 1

Provident Financial Services, Inc. (NYSE: PFS) announced the appointment of Adriano Duarte as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Provident Bank and Provident Financial Services, effective July 1, 2026.
Duarte succeeds Thomas Lyons, who retired after more than two decades with the company. In his new role, Duarte will oversee accounting, financial planning and analysis, treasury, investor relations, corporate strategy, financial reporting, tax, facilities, and financial risk management. He will report to Anthony Labozzetta, President and Chief Executive Officer.
Duarte joined Provident in 2020 through the acquisition of SB One Bank and most recently served as Executive Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer. He previously held the CFO position at SB One Bank and senior finance roles at Investors Bank.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and an MBA with a concentration in Finance from Rutgers University and is a Certified Public Accountant. Provident Bank said he has more than 30 years of experience in banking and financial services.
"Adriano is a highly respected and trusted leader whose deep financial expertise, strategic perspective, and collaborative leadership style have made a significant impact across our organization," Labozzetta said in a statement.
Provident Bank, founded in 1839 and based in Iselin, N.J., reported assets of $25.20 billion as of March 31, 2026, and operates more than 140 branches across New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.
