Harmony Biosciences Holdings (Nasdaq: HRMY) announced that Peter Anastasiou, currently serving as Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, will become President and Chief Executive Officer effective January 1, 2027.

Anastasiou, who previously served three years on Harmony's board of directors, will succeed Jeffrey M. Dayno, M.D., who is retiring after a nine-year tenure at the company, including time as Chief Medical Officer. Dayno will step down from the board on December 31, 2026, and will serve as a non-executive advisor to Harmony throughout 2027.

Before joining Harmony, Anastasiou served as CEO of Capsida Biotherapeutics, where he raised more than $165 million in capital and secured partnerships with AbbVie and Lilly. Prior to that, he was Executive Vice President and President of North America at Lundbeck, leading an organization of approximately 1,200 employees with annual net revenues exceeding $1.5 billion.

Alongside the leadership announcement, Harmony reiterated its full-year 2026 net revenue guidance for WAKIX of $1.0 billion to $1.04 billion. The company also said it remains on track to report data from the multiple ascending dose study of its pipeline candidate BP-205 in the fourth quarter of 2026, and does not expect changes to the timing of key commercial or pipeline milestones.

"Peter is the right leader for Harmony's next phase of growth," said Jeffrey S. Aronin, founder and Chairman of the Board, according to a press release statement. "He has a deep understanding of our business and has been an important contributor to our strategy, pipeline and business development efforts."
