Gateway Bank appoints Mukhtar Ali as president and COO

Gateway Bank, F.S.B. appointed Mukhtar Ali as president and chief operating officer, effective immediately, according to a company statement.

Ali brings more than 35 years of executive leadership experience in the banking industry. He previously served as president and chief credit officer for Community Bank of the Bay in Oakland.

"We are thrilled to welcome Mukhtar to the Gateway family. His deep ties to Oakland and the greater Bay Area make him an ideal fit with our mission to provide banking services to our community," said Chairman and CEO Arnold Grisham.

The Oakland, California-based bank stated that Ali has experience in operational excellence, strategic growth, and innovation within the banking sector.
