GFL Environmental names Allen Gransch as chief operating officer
GFL Environmental Inc. (NYSE: GFL, TSX: GFL) announced the appointment of Allen Gransch as Chief Operating Officer, effective Oct. 1, 2026, according to a company press release.
Gransch joined GFL as Executive Vice President on Sept. 1, 2026, in connection with the company's acquisition of SECURE Waste Infrastructure Corp. He joined SECURE in 2007, its first year of operations, and held roles including CFO, COO, and President and CEO over nearly 20 years with the company.
Concurrently, Billy Soffera transitions from his role as Chief Operating Officer to serve as a senior strategic advisor, where he will continue to lead certain corporate initiatives. Soffera had served as COO for the past five years.
"Allen brings a proven track record of operational excellence that directly complements our long-term growth strategy," said Patrick Dovigi, Founder and CEO of GFL.
GFL describes itself as the fourth largest diversified environmental services company in North America, operating solid waste management services across Canada and 19 U.S. states with more than 17,000 employees.
