Fathom Entertainment has named Jason Brenek as its new Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Ray Nutt, who had previously announced his retirement, according to a company press release.

Brenek brings more than two decades of senior executive experience in theatrical marketing and distribution, cinema technology, and content production. He most recently served as founder and CEO of MetaMedia, a cloud-based platform for delivering content to cinemas, which was acquired by Qube Cinema in 2025. Before that, he served as Executive Vice President at IMAX Corporation and held senior roles at The Walt Disney Company, including Senior Vice President of Worldwide Digital Cinema and Cinema Programming.

Adam Rymer, Chief Commercial Officer at Regal Global Entertainment and a member of Fathom's board, said Brenek's expertise across theatrical distribution, event cinema, and technology, along with his prior work with Fathom, made him "the clear choice."

Fathom Entertainment is co-owned by AMC Entertainment Holdings (NYSE: AMC), Cinemark Holdings (NYSE: CNK), and Regal Cineworld Group (LSE: CINE.L), which collectively operate more than 19,000 screens across the U.S.

Brenek takes the role as the company continues its transition from Fathom Events to Fathom Entertainment, positioning itself as a full-service specialty theatrical distributor. The company is scheduled to release Wildwood, a stop-motion feature film from LAIKA, in theaters nationwide on October 23.
