Delta announces executive leadership changes with multiple promotions

Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) announced several executive leadership changes following the retirement of John Laughter, who concludes a 30-year career with the airline on April 30.



Peter Carter has been promoted to President, taking on expanded responsibilities including enterprise strategy, global policy and legal matters, Delta's international portfolio, real estate, and sustainability and diversity teams. Carter has served with Delta for a decade.



Dan Janki will become Chief Operating Officer, overseeing Delta's operational divisions including Airport Customer Service, Flight Operations, In-Flight Service, Operations & Customer Center, Reservation Sales and Customer Care, Technical Operations, and Corporate Safety, Security and Compliance teams. Janki previously served as Chief Financial Officer.



Erik Snell will assume the role of Chief Financial Officer. Snell joined Delta 20 years ago in finance and most recently served as Chief Customer Experience Officer. In his new position, he will oversee the Finance organization, Fleet and Supply Chain teams, and refinery subsidiary Monroe Energy.



Ranjan Goswami has been named Chief Marketing and Product Officer, replacing Alicia Tillman, who is leaving Delta to pursue other opportunities.



Alain Bellemare, Executive Vice President and President - International, will add the role of Chairman of Delta TechOps to his existing responsibilities.



Carter, Janki, Snell, and Goswami will all report directly to CEO Ed Bastian.



Laughter began his career with Delta more than three decades ago as an aircraft liaison engineer in TechOps and served as Executive Vice President, Chief of Operations and President of Delta TechOps.



The leadership changes were communicated to Delta employees through a memo from Bastian, according to the company's press release statement.
