Columbia Banking System names Ivan Seda as new CFO

Columbia Banking System Inc. (NASDAQ: COLB) announced that Ronald Farnsworth will step down as chief financial officer on December 31, 2025, and will be succeeded by Ivan Seda, the company's current deputy CFO.
Farnsworth has served as Columbia's CFO since March 2023 and previously held the same role at Umpqua Holdings Corporation and Umpqua Bank from 2008 until its merger with Columbia in 2023. He will remain as an advisor to the company through June 1, 2026.
Seda joined Columbia in August 2025 as deputy CFO. Before Columbia, he served as CFO at Union Bank and held financial executive positions at MUFG, including head of financial planning and analysis and head of corporate finance and strategy for the Americas. Most recently, he was deputy CFO at BECU.
"Ron has played a key role in establishing Columbia as the leading Western banking franchise, optimizing our performance and better positioning the business to meaningfully expand long-term shareholder value," said Clint Stein, Columbia's CEO.
Seda holds a master's degree in accounting and a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Washington's Michael G. Foster School of Business. He is a chartered financial analyst and former certified public accountant.
The Tacoma, Washington-based company is the parent of Columbia Bank, which operates locations across Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington. The announcement was made in a press release issued by the company.
