Coca-Cola names Rob Gehring president of North America unit

The Coca-Cola Company (NYSE: KO) announced that Rob Gehring will become president of its North America operating unit effective Dec. 1, 2026, according to a company press release.

Gehring, 59, returns to Coca-Cola after serving as CEO, Americas at Monster Energy Company, a role he assumed in February 2026. He succeeds John Murphy, who has led the North America operating unit on an interim basis since Aug. 1, 2026. Murphy will remain president and chief financial officer.

Gehring began his career in the Coca-Cola system in 1992 in sales and marketing, serving in roles across the United States and Canada. From 2011 to 2016, he served as president of the Coca-Cola Walmart global team before joining The Hershey Company as Global Chief Sales Officer in 2016.

In 2018, Gehring was appointed COO and later promoted to president and CEO of Swire Coca-Cola USA, where he oversaw bottling operations across 17 states with more than 8,000 employees. He joined Monster Energy Company in 2024 as Chief Growth Officer before assuming the CEO, Americas role.

Gehring holds a degree from Arizona State University.
