Chewy names Chris Deppe as chief financial officer

Chewy Inc. (NYSE: CHWY) appointed Chris Deppe as chief financial officer, the pet products retailer announced.

Deppe joined Chewy in 2022 as vice president of supply chain and operations finance and most recently served as head of all corporate and commercial finance functions. He has more than 20 years of finance and operations experience.

Before joining Chewy, Deppe spent over 16 years at Amazon in senior finance leadership roles across global transportation services, global mile, and U.S. fulfillment center operations. He led cost optimization initiatives and strategic planning efforts across global operations during his tenure there.

"Following a rigorous process that included several high-quality external candidates, the Board and I are thrilled with this outcome," said Sumit Singh, chief executive officer of Chewy. "Chris is a proven finance leader who delivers results, builds strong partnerships, and executes with discipline."

Deppe holds a bachelor of science in chemical engineering from Colorado State University and both a master of science in finance and a master of business administration from Indiana University.

Will Billings will continue to serve as chief accounting officer following Deppe's appointment. Billings had been serving as interim principal financial officer.

Chewy reaffirmed its financial outlook for fiscal year 2025 and stated it remains on track toward its long-term margin profile of 10% adjusted EBITDA. The company said its business momentum remains strong and its long-term plan remains intact.
