Bitmine appoints Young Kim as CFO and COO

Bitmine Immersion Technologies Inc. (NYSE AMERICAN: BMNR) announced the appointment of Young Kim as chief financial officer and chief operating officer, effective immediately. Kim will also serve as a member of the company's board of directors and report to Chairman Thomas Lee.



Kim brings over 20 years of investment experience managing global portfolios. He previously served as partner and senior portfolio manager at Axiom Investors from 2021 to 2025, and held a similar role at Columbia Threadneedle Investments from 2011 to 2021. Kim holds degrees from MIT and Harvard Business School and began his career as a software engineer.



"Young brings a vast range of skills, knowledge and expertise from his experience in finance, venture capital and engineering to Bitmine," said Thomas Lee, chairman of Bitmine.



The company stated it currently owns 3.43% of the ETH token supply as part of what it calls its "Alchemy of 5%" goal to acquire 5% of Ethereum tokens. Bitmine indicated it has backing from institutional investors including ARK's Cathie Wood, Founders Fund, Pantera, Kraken, and Galaxy Digital.



Bitmine will hold its annual stockholder meeting at the Wynn Las Vegas on January 15, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. PST. The agenda includes electing eight directors, approving a charter amendment to increase authorized common stock shares, and approving a 2025 incentive plan. Stockholders must register by January 13, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time to attend in person.



The meeting will be livestreamed on the company's social media account. Bitmine operates Bitcoin mining facilities in Trinidad and Texas, and describes itself as focused on cryptocurrency accumulation for long-term investment.
