Achieve Life Sciences, Inc. (NASDAQ: ACHV) announced the appointment of Benjamin Halladay as Chief Financial Officer, effective October 5, 2026, according to a company press release. He succeeds Mark Oki, who served as CFO through the company's Phase 3 program and NDA submission.
Halladay joins from Esperion Therapeutics, a commercial-stage pharmaceutical company with more than $400 million in annual revenue, where he served as CFO from November 2022 until July 2026. During that period, Esperion deleveraged its balance sheet, acquired Corstasis Therapeutics and its product Enbumyst, and was sold to ARCHIMED for up to $1.1 billion. The upfront cash consideration represented a 58% premium to Esperion's closing share price on April 30, 2026.
Halladay brings more than 15 years of financial management experience, including earlier roles at Pfizer Inc., where he worked on Lipitor and Chantix in the Primary Care business unit, and at Fortune 500 industrial company National Oilwell Varco. He holds an MBA from Fordham University and a BA from Syracuse University, and is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive).
In his new role, Halladay will oversee financial strategy, accounting, investor relations, and information technology at Achieve. "The discipline that determines how a launch goes is put in place long before the first prescription is written," Halladay said. "That is the work I'm excited to do."
Achieve is a late-stage specialty pharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of cytisinicline as a treatment for nicotine dependence. The company has submitted a New Drug Application for cytisinicline for smoking cessation in adults and holds Breakthrough Therapy designation for a vaping cessation indication.
