AECOM (NYSE: ACM) has appointed Manav Kumar as Chief Legal Officer, effective October 3, 2026, according to a company statement.
Kumar succeeds David Gan, who will move to a Senior Advisor role and plans to retire in 2027. In his new position, Kumar will lead legal and public affairs globally and continue serving as Corporate Secretary.
Kumar currently serves as AECOM's Corporate General Counsel and Global Head of Public Affairs. He joined the company in 2017 and has held roles spanning legal, public affairs, and enterprise leadership. Before joining AECOM, he served as Deputy Counsel to the Mayor of Los Angeles and as Chief Olympics Officer for the City of Los Angeles during the city's bid for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Gan spent more than 20 years at AECOM, during which he helped build the company's global legal organization and strengthened its governance and risk framework.
Troy Rudd, AECOM's chairman and chief executive officer, said Kumar would bring "broad leadership experience, business judgment and enterprise perspective" to the role. The two executives are expected to work together to facilitate the transition.
