Venture Global announced it received a favorable ruling from an arbitration tribunal in a dispute with Shell, according to a company statement. The Arlington, Virginia-based liquefied natural gas company said the decision affirmed the terms of its contracts with customers.
The tribunal's determination "reaffirms what Venture Global has maintained from the outset--the plain language in our contracts, mutually agreed upon with all of our customers, is clear," the company stated. Venture Global said it has consistently honored its agreements without exception.
The company did not disclose specific details about the nature of the dispute with Shell or the financial implications of the ruling. Shell did not immediately respond with a statement regarding the arbitration outcome.
Venture Global highlighted its practice of exporting commissioning cargoes during facility construction, which it said has brought LNG to market faster than traditional methods. The company operates LNG export facilities and has additional projects under development.
The arbitration decision comes as the global LNG market continues to evolve, with various suppliers and buyers navigating contractual arrangements amid changing energy demands. Venture Global emphasized the importance of contract sanctity and regulatory oversight in maintaining industry competitiveness.
